I stream music from Amazon music through the WiiM pro. I do it through chrome cast to the WiiM pro because I like following the lyrics on the app. Lately I have been using the WiiM directly and I found two things I think it has better resolution but lately I have found in some songs an added distortion/crackling sound in the music. If you look for it you hear its super apparent. This issue is not present if you go through chromecast, but the sound is less resolving and has lower volumen even. Is WiiM aware of this? What can I do?

Chromecast will give you no better than CD quality from the Amazon Music app. When you hear this crackling using the WiiM app, what resolution were the tracks? Also, what output are you using from your Pro and if digital (optical or coax), did you try the test signal for the resolution you chose? What is the Pro connected to?

Also, is there a reason you’re not using AlexaCast rather than ChromeCast?

The resolution varies from 192 and 48 (I am gathering them on a playlist for further testing). The Output level I think it’s for the Line output only.
I am outputing digtal optical, but just did a test of coaxial and same thing, they go to a topping E50 DAC and just now trying the new Fosi DAC, and same thing. Do you think AlexaCAST will be higher resolution than Chromecast?…I even changed the tweeters and same thing, it’s looking like the culprit is WiiM-Amazon combo….I am thinking trying out a trial of Qobuz or Tidal, if same result then it is all WiiMs fault.
