Hi! I'm planning to upgrade to an All-In-One Player (Cambridge Evo 150) and want to connect a WiiM Mini for multiroom connection with other WiiM devices.

The Evo 150 has only one output connection which is a RCA Pre-Out. I'm wondering if I can safely connect this with the WiiM Mini Aux-In..?

The Pre-Out, as I understand, is volume controlled and I fear the signal might be incompatible (or even damaging) for the WiiM's Aux In port.

What do you think, should this work, worth a try or bad idea for whatever reason?

Thank you!

I think you may well have synchronisation issues, i.e. the other wiims will be lagging behind the evo.
And yes, if the output is 4v (as a quick search suggests) then that might be a bit hot for the mini.
Some might ask why the evo over an amp ultra?

Thank you, I wasn't aware that pre-outs may have different voltages. And yes, I'm also concerned about the lag.
I guess it's not a good idea.
The Amp Ultra is a very valid suggestion. I do prefer the Evo for a couple of reasons but the much higher price gets increasingly harder to justify. Will think about it. Thank you again!

I would stick to one brand across the house. Either WiiM or Cambridge Audio. Far less integration problems and one user interface across the whole house.

Why do you prefer the Cambridge Audio EVO 150 over the WiiM Ultra Amp?

I had a Cambridge CXN for almost 10 years and therefore the Evo was the first idea for an All-In-One. But I really haven't decided yet. Might actually go with the Ultra.
