Switch stereo channels as a feature

Option for switching L/R channel. Searching through forums I found out it happened on some devices as a bug :) But it would be useful for some setups. Especially for those with active speakers if it was a feature.

Using such speakers means you have power cable and inputs on the one side, not in the center as it goes with an amp setup. And if you’re unlucky you end up with an electrical outlet and/or a spot to place a streamer and other equipment on the wrong side. Thus you have much more fuss with cable management etc.

You can open it as a feature request to WiiM from the WiiM Home App (More - Feedback).

Could be a good feature if your active speakers don't allow you to specify the channel.

I see where you're coming from but still hesitate to upvote. Many - probably most? - active speakers consising of a primary and a secondary speaker shoul implement a left/right switch already.

I'm not totally against such a setting, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra clutter added by each new feature in the WiiM Home app. Not talking about some users getting confused by it, resulting in more support requests.

So for now I can only rate this a solid "maybe".

I can give you another use case. In ceiling speakers.
These are usually located fairly centrally in a room's ceiling for obvious reasons. Correct L/R then depends on which side of the room you are in.

Good point. If you have more than one main seating area in that room, a software based selection might be handy (if those using in-ceiling speakers really care).

NB: You liked the original post but did not upvote the request (yet).

Could be useful...

Normally in my home office I sit at the desk where the speakers are, facing them.
The other day I sat at the desk on the other side of the room, with my back to the speakers.

Another failure of nature.

If we all had just one arm mono would be good enough for everything and we didn't have to worry about guitarist at all ...
