Roon Sync Delay - Is it used when playing from Roon

I'm noticing that Roon is out of sync between rooms now, but was working fine in the beginning. I'm wondering if this is because I manually adjusted the sync in the WiiM Home app and that delay is being added to any delay that Roon is using? My entire reason for buying 5x WiiM Pro units was to do multiroom audio that was in perfect sync for all rooms. So far I've had nothing but challenges getting this to work properly.

I either:
- Manually sync and play network sources from WiiM and it is in sync for about 1 - 2 hours, then has to be manually adjusted again
- Disable sync (set to 0ms) on all the units then play with Roon, then put the sync delays back (otherwise everything will be way off again)

I'm about ready to just build some Rasberry Pis that listen to a local networking RTSP stream and ditch all the WiiM units.

@criticowl Did you ever find a resolution to this? I just bumped into it with two WiiM Ultras and posted this issue in the Roon support forum:

I'm in the opposite boat as you as I am trying to replace some older Pi's with the Ultras, but right now it's looking like I can only use these in places where I would never group them in Roon, which is a shame if true...

I'm not sure I found a resolution so much as confirmed what I suspected. The WiiM sync delay seems to not be used for RAAT streams or at least Roon is unaware of it in it's calculations. Roon can handle network latency, but is unaware of hardware latency. To fix any hardware latency (for instance external DAC or ADC or other processing), you need to dial in compensation in the WiiM Home app.

I detail the process of getting things in sink here:

However, I've gone back to using multi-channel audio amps with matrix capability and given up on grouping in software. It just never seems to work as well as hardware and the hardware is way easier for people to use or integrate into home automation.
