Tidal Connect Intermittent (Ultra)

I have a Mac Mini with the latest OS and a WiiM Ultra with USB out to a DAC. The Tidal connect works fine initially and when I start Tidal on the Mac, the WiiM Ultra appears in the options for audio out. When I play Music on Tidal, it correctly plays on the WiiM. Then after about 5 minutes or so, the audio option in the Tidal APP switches from the WiiM to "Default" -- the Mac speakers.

I have been using the Tidal playlists of classical music. Some music seems to play correctly for longer than 5 minutes but I haven't found a solution as eventually, it resorts to Default.

I then tried playing the same music from the WiiM Tidal option. And after about 20 minutes, the music stopped and after I hit the play button, it resumed.

I just rebooted the WiiM, the Mac, and the Router. Now when I choose the WiiM in the Mac APP it immediately goes to the Mac speakers (default)

I also have JRiver with DLNA to the Wiim, which works fine....just the Tidal is having issues.

... and some more comments in the current firmware thread. It happens to some,.but not all users for reasons which are still unclear.

In any case you should send feedback to WiiM through the WiiM Home app (More => Feedback) after the issue occured to you.

Yes...I saw both of those when I searched......They are both recent and I suspect the last update is the culprit.

Feedback through the app is generally more helpful to WiiM to identify any topic they have in their own hands, because device logs will be included. Make sure to send feedback so they get all the information they need.

As @Burnside pointed out, this is not a single issue with the last Ultra firmware. There is no clear pattern yet, at least not for us on the outside. My Ultra plays Tidal at any resolution (and duration) with no problem at all.

I sent feedback earlier. I don't remember having an issue earlier. I wonder if there is something common .... like MAC OS versions

As far as I can see it seems to happen with most (maybe all?) Tidal clients. I've seen reports for Android, iOS and now MacOS at least. Possible Windows as well.

Region might play a role, too, but if your nickname says anything about your location ;) it's not as easy as "Europe is fine, Americas and Asia are not".

The new update is installed and so far it is working

Obviously a workaround from WiiM until Tidal are done updating stuff on their end.
