Hi,
From some time, I have problem with playing Tidal MAX Albums (those with FLAC 4350 kbps 24-bit/192 kHz.
At Random times, music stop playing for 1-2 sec - like 20-40 times per song.

Wiim soft is up to date.
This is not a internet issue problem - tested and rebooted everything. Connecting only through IPv4 with google DNS's on 5GHz Wifi and 300Mbit fiber. On other devices TIDAL works just fine.
# Tested different SPDIF cables (using stock Wiim cable, cleaned up - not twisted),
# Lowering SPDIF output resolution in Wiim to test.
# Tested Diffrent DAC SPDIF inputs

Nothing is working.

Problem occurs on Tidal album: The Alan Parsons Project - I Robot.
Looks like software/hardware problem to me.

We will be grateful for your help.

It do look like either a HW or network issue. Have you tried with 2G WiFi? It is more stable. Or maybe try Ethernet if possible.

I have just played the album on my Ultra. No issues at all. I play 24/96 out via optical.

I agree. While you may think that your WiFi is OK this is the most likely weak point in the delivery chain when the source is HiRes.
As suggested try 2.4Ghz WiFi if you can or better still Ethernet.

Certainly sounds like a wifi reception issue.
Being a mini it's easy to move.
Turn off fixed volume, lower the volume, plug some headphones into the aux out and move the mini close to the router.
Still getting dropouts?

Just the other day I was getting the slightest pause in tidal connect 192khz tracks (a few per song) with a wired connection to a pro.

I have exactly the same problem on Wiim Ultra.

I eliminated the WiFi/Ethernet connection from the problem - it's exactly the same.

I eliminated the control device - whether phone or tablet is the same.

I eliminated the problem of output, RCA, Coas and USB Audio - it's the same.
It's very irritating.

I installed Amazon Music - there is no problem with the same songs, but this application is tragic. I think I'll part with Wiim and go back to Apple Music and buy Eversolo.

Are the songs on Amazon Music the same high resolution?

It still sounds to me that the issue is with the network if you only have the problem with high bit rates. Maybe your provider or the local Tidal server?

It is not a general WiiM problem.

Yes, on Amazon files are the same. 24/192.

I can watch Netflix, Apple TV or movies from servers in KODI without any problems, but I can't listen to music? I don't think so. I have the same problem with Tidal on my computer. The internet is very fast via fiber.

If you have same problem on your PC why do you think it's the WiiM?

Network speed is not the only factor for reliable data delivery. The max jitter is just as important. Most video applications are buffering the data for several seconds to handle this. The audio data is not buffered similar as you don't want the delay between the tracks.

I don't know how much WiiM buffers the network data? I have never had any issues.

Music on Amazon Music and Apple Music work correctly, zero problems.
So a Tidal issue then. There are others reporting similar issues lately.

Thread 'Tidal stuttering on Wiim Ultra sporadically' https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/tidal-stuttering-on-wiim-ultra-sporadically.6240/

Just checked myself but no issues at all.

Edit: If it is a Tidal issue, then it may be with some of the local Tidal servers distributed around the world. My local (Denmark) Tidal service works as expected.

I'll call my internet provider on Monday, maybe they'll help. In the meantime, I'll look for more information about this problem. I'll also try to go to a friend's house with the Wiim, who has a different internet connection.

If you say that it works with Amazon and not with Tidal, it's probably the local Tidal server causing the issue. It might be overloaded or have some connection issues.

Maybe then also contact local Tidal support?
