Hi all,

Anyone in the UK if you have a wi Fi & fancy ethernet take a chance on this TP LINK AV100 like I did for £26 it's a game changer.

Before I brought this my wiim Pro was finding hard to discover my pc music media files now its so stable, some peeps have problems depending on their electrical circuits, I though I would take the chance and return it if it was no good.

It's working for me no need to return it.

Without wishing to rain on your parade can I just say that Powerline adapters generally can be very flaky over time. They start out working well but are very susceptible to changes induced by plugging other things into the mains. To work properly they need to be plugged in directly - not onto an expansion board - and they prefer to be the only device at that point in the ring main. You may find that these are different but I ended up running CAT5E around the house to get things to work more reliably.

Power line adapters do also generate noise that may find its way into your analog audio circuits. So try to avoid them.

Been using Powerline adapters for over twenty years now. Never had any issues whatsoever. My mileage obviously differs.

(Can't find that price that the OP refers to though).

Well I got much more noise with Wi-Fi I have so much more clarity now, if they do start to play up even though its been about two months now, I will go straight to ethernet, the difference is night and day & I've never said that before, only time will tell but for £27 I took a chance nothing lost really.Plus I'm learning so much about my network.
I've never experienced these speeds before. But other people miles may vary, I'm glad i gave tp link a go.

PLAs are modems that emit in the high MHz to low GHz range as broadband white noise. They can be circuit-isolated but that's an issue if your audio equipment is sharing the same electrical circuit. Then powerline filters/conditioners would be the next option and finally wifi to find another network path.

My experience has been good. I've used PLAs at home for some hard to reach spots before mesh networks were a thing. They were pretty reliable with the occasional reboot after they lost sync between the modems or stopped transmitting I presume. I ran a Marantz stereo that shared an electrical circuit with the PLA and never noticed audio hiss or hum or other audio artefacts. The ones that I had were donated to a friend a couple of years and still running strong after about 12-15 years.

That's what confused me also.
Yes sorry my mistake yes it's 1000 gibabit which I am getting now, well 900 GBPS before I was getting around 600, so glad I took the small gamble.

I've just ordered the TP-Link LS108G 8 Port Gigabit Network Switch so I can connect the rest of my gear, another amazon bargain hopefully.

i will update on here in a couple of weeks too see if the speed drops.I think it all depends on your router & electrical circuits. My router is a 5G ZTE MC888A.

It's the second best item I have purchased in my 20 year hi-fi journey the first is my wiim Pro & there's been a lot in that time, you all know what this hobby is like lol
