Trouble Streaming to Sonos

Wiim Newbie here - I have a Wiim mini connected to my Onkyo Rz-50 receiver and a Wiim mini connected to my Sonos Era 100. I'm trying to create a multi room system where both the Onkyo and and Sonos systems are connected and play the same streaming music. I'm using the line out from the Wiim mini to the Sonos era via an adapter I bought off Amazon. However, the Era says it doesn't detect the "line-in" from the mini.

I'm wondering if this is because i'm not using an OEM Sonos line-in adapter. Any suggestions?

What was the adaptor you bought?

You can also try the included cable (AUX to 2 RCA) for the Mini.

Which adapter? Most USB-3.5mm adapters are DAC, for output. The Era needs the Sonos 3.5mm-to-USB ADC line-in adapter.

Yeah. Totally inappropriate I'm afraid. It's to plug headphones into a phone's USB output.
If you want to connect to the Sonos Era line-in you'll simply have to swallow the expense and buy the Sonos ADC adapter.

One thing to note though: if you think that the Sonos and Onkyo are going to automatically play in sync, you may well be out of luck. The Sonos line-in has a minimum 75ms delay. The Onkyo will have its own digital processing delay.

Note my edit re multi-room sync. You should be prepared to tinker with a manual delay setting somewhere.
