today I've noticed something I like to share and discuss with you:
As in this article mentioned it is now possible to have playback controls on the lock screen, if you stream via the WiiM Home App. It is said, that there is no support when using third party apps, for example Tidal.
However I noticed, that if you do use the Tidal App and connect it to the WiiM Pro Plus as described here and then, in a second step, connect the iPhone via Bluetooth to the WiiM Pro Plus, you get to have playback controls on the Lock Screen. There will even be an additional volume control via the lock screen and the volume buttons of the iPhone. The WiiM Pro Plus still uses Wifi as a source (which is indicated by the status light), it didn't switch to a Bluetooth connection. Even after turning off Bluetooth completely on the iPhone you can still use the playback controls.
Unfortunately some songs are muted and after disconnecting the workaround has to be repeated. I was wondering if there is another way to get this "extended" playback controls, as I like to be able to toggle the volume without unlocking my Phone and open an app. Any ideas?
