Umik-1 microphone has been a game changer

The Umik-1 microphone arrived today.

Hooked up to my iPhone the results have been surprisingly good. A radical improvement over using the iPhones built in mic.

Roomfit was pretty good before but the results with the B&W matrix 800 speakers in my space are much better with this calibrated mic. These big speakers have a bad habit of exciting the room far too much.

I’m very happy, I’d recommend the umik-1 microphone if you have got into roomfit

I use the same mic. Works great with my android phone or tablet, and my MS Surface Pro 6.

Does it just hook up directly to the phone or do you need an OTG adapter and have you done any trials with the free REW software?

Works fine without an OTG adapter (direct hook-up to USB-C phones) and it works great with REW.
