Use Album Artist Instead of Track Artist for Identifying Albums

Dear all,

I have a lot of compilations with about 40 different artists. All tracks of these compilations have an album artists tag populated with "Various Artists".
Unfortunately the Wiim Home App does not recognize the album artist tag to identify albums. Therefore every single track in such a compilation is regarded as a single album. It would be very helpful, if the Wiim Home App would make use of album artists. If there is no album artist given, then certainly the track artist needs to be used as fallback.

I'm sure that this will have been asked for many times on the forum, but I think that this is how various artist compilation albums should be sorted, and personally I would like all albums to be sorted by album artist.

The OP is saying that the albums are being split by track artist instead of album artist, which I thought had already been fixed.

Tracks should, at a minimum, be grouped by album and albumartist to form albums/releases.

No, I don't want any albums split, and I always sort by album artist.

I am using a Wiim Ultra. I used an Android device to operate the Wiim Ultra.

I tested two sources for music in my local network.

1st source: An Emby Media Server with active DLNA service. In legacy mode, the album list was imported from the DLNA server directly. In this case certainly the albums were as expected. But there seemed to be a problem with the artist list. This was empty. Therefore I switched to enhanced mode. In enhanced mode I found, that all tracks of a compilation were treated as separate albums. Internally in Emby I only see this behavior, if no album artists are available.

2. source: I installed the Wiim Home App on my PC. There I added my music folder (an exact copy of my music library on my Emby server). And I enabled the local DLNA server in the PC version of the Wiim Home App. After scanning the music folder, all tracks of compilations were shown as separate albums both in the PC app for the local library and in the Android app via DLNA.
