Music Search Categories Are Basic Only

The Music search categories in Wiim Home app are: Artists, Albums, Genres, Years, New Music and Music Folder. This is fine for most popular and jazz music libraries, My music collection contains those, but most of my large collection is Classical. I stream from Lyrion Music Server and it's configured with these additional search categories: TWO Artist search categories, Album Artists and All Artists; Composers; Classical Music by Conductor.

I use the Squeezelite option in the Wiim Home app. Shouldn't Squeezelite mirror the search categories in LMS? If so, why do the additional search categories not show in the Wiim Home app? They do show in other LMS clients like iPeng and Squeezepad. Is the Wiim Home app internally configured to limit the search categories? The additional search categories are really rock bottom BASIC for classical music.

I realize some classical music collectors want even more complex, highly specific search categories, but most (including myself) would be happy with the basic additional categories I've listed in the first paragraph that are already configured in LMS.

The DLNA interface is controlled by Lyrion (the DLNA/UPnP Media Interface plugin) so there's nothing WiiM can do to extend that.

The interface will appear the same to any DLNA control point e.g. BubbleUPnP/mconnect.
And hasn’t that been unsupported for almost ten years?

That isn't using Squeezelite. Squeezelite allows the Ultra to appear as a player in LMS.
I understand that but Squeezelite emulation on WHA as player still provides the search categories on LMS. WHA isn't using all of them. Like I said, I can search, select, play and view album covers directly in WHA and Ultra plays them.

I don’t believe the WiiM squeezelite client does that. I’d say it’s the LMS DLNA/UpNP Media Interface plugin that is exposing your LMS library to UPNP clients like the WiiM Home app. If I only had a WiiM Mini which doesn’t support the squeezelite client, I’d still see your LMS library by dint of that plugin being used.

In Lyrion there are 2 UPnP plugins and they do drastically different things.

1. UPnP/DLNA Media Interface - been around for donkeys years and hasn't had any development for at least 10. If you install and enable your Lyrion library is presented to UPnP clients in a very basic way. This is what will appear in the WiiM Home App.

2. UPnP/DLNA Bridge. Much more up to date. This allows UPnP Renderers to appear as players in LMS which can be controlled via LMS GUI's including Material. You would install this if you only have a WiiM Mini. All other WiiM's appear as native clients anyway.

EDIT
Squeezelite is playback software only. It does no indexing or presentation of content.
