Vibleink + Ultra volume issues

I'm confused about controlling the volume with hit combo. If I set the audio to fixed output on the Ultra I have to control the volume on the vibe link with the know, no remote.
If I turn off fixed volume and set the viblink to 100, I can control the volume with the Wii app, but my sub out quits working. Also, the volume 'jumps" when turning it up, it's not a smooth adjustment.
What's the best way to set this up?

I have my vibelink set to about 70% and control volume via the ultra, never had a problem with my sub out from the Ultra, the Ultra remote volume is set to one step per press..

Ok I tried setting it up this way. The sub out does work but it has much less volume than before. I checked the sub settings on the Ultra and it is set to 0db. Maybe it's just a different sounding setup and I have to get used to it? idk.

No, the difference you hear is for real.

The WiiM Ultra does not and cannot know about the volume setting on the WiiM Vibelink Amp. Turning the Vibelink Amp's volume knob after you set up the subwoofer is the same as using a different amplifier with different voltage gain. => The balance between mains and sub is disturbed.

Whenever you change the volume setting on the Vibelink Amp you have to readjust the subwoofer output level on the WiiM Ultra. Judging this by ear is very difficult and you'll most likely have to rerun RoomFit, too.

This is one reason why I personally prefer to leave the power amp at a very well defined volume setting (fully clockwise, that is).

And in case my above comment wasn't clear: Setting the Ultra to 100% volume and controlling the volume through the Vibelink Amp simply doesn't work at all, if a subwoofer is connected to the Ultra. Don't do it.

The reasons are the same as above. The Vibelink Amp volume control doesn't affect the subwoofer output at all. The sub will always play at the same level, regardless of the potentiometer setting.
