Warranty

Six years at Peter Tyson:
What does that say about Brexit?
Wow, can't complain about that 😀

Norway is outside EU, but here the goverment has stated that electronic items shall have a lifespan of minimum 5 years. So after the warranty from the manufacturer has gone out, the shop you bought it from has to step in and either fix, give you a new device or money back if it breakes down before those 5 years are gone.

What are the T&C's? Just checked - seems 'above board' 😊

Does one need to register online for the warranty (in the UK)? I have searched but cannot find a facility to do so.

Arguably people in the UK have a warranty right for 6 years...
Yeah, but the last part of that is important when “reasonableness” applies - I don’t think if you paid a relatively small amount for something and it failed after five years that you should expect it to be repaired or replaced, whereas if you had paid several grand, you might. Current WiiM gear might fall into the first category…

Wow, doing a search brought me here. I am curious about the Ultra’s warranty in the USA. Why because the analog output doesn’t meet expectations.

So I was looking for what the warranty covers like many others in this thread. What do I find here is a bunch of cyber bullies. I hope your ms find out what you’re doing and cut your cords.

Welcome to the forum, that's a rather strange first post, where are these cyber bullies that you are referring to?

Well after a quick re-read several were typical rude responses that should have not even been made. This is because the response was actually I don’t know.

The response that triggered my response was yours. Implying a poster’s stay on the site would be short lived. Now I see it is from a moderator I have no doubt about the bullying. This forum should be about helping users not defending the company.

So let’s get something clear. The Ultra would be a good product for the price if it was 2/3 the price and did not contain analog. Higher performance systems will reveal the distortion from the analog output of the Ultra. This is not an issue with sounding better or worse. It’s about soybeans. Additionally WiiM covers it up with the default filter setting.

How is this point of view related to this thread about warranty?

I'm sorry if you feel this way, and you are entitled to your own opinion, but there was no bullying involved.

My expectation of warranty for any product is that it would cover repair or replacement should the unit develop a fault. Not meeting expectation isn’t a warranty issue in my mind, but rather would be covered by a retailer’s right to return policy which I believe is 30 days on Amazon and other major retailers, while some like Crutchfield appear to offer 60 days. I’d ask your retailer not the manufacturer

if you purchase an item 'online' in the UK we have 'distance selling laws' that means you can return the item as unsuitable or unsatisfactory within 14 days minimum. Amazons 30days is very generous. Faulty goods are dealt with differently.
This at least gives you chance to check in a reasonable way if the item is 'suitable' and what you want including any quality issues you may discover. Of course careful unwrapping and re wrapping is required .. something i have become quite good at .. :ROFLMAO:
