Norway is outside EU, but here the goverment has stated that electronic items shall have a lifespan of minimum 5 years. So after the warranty from the manufacturer has gone out, the shop you bought it from has to step in and either fix, give you a new device or money back if it breakes down before those 5 years are gone.

Does one need to register online for the warranty (in the UK)? I have searched but cannot find a facility to do so.
 

Arguably people in the UK have a warranty right for 6 years...
Yeah, but the last part of that is important when ā€œreasonablenessā€ applies - I donā€™t think if you paid a relatively small amount for something and it failed after five years that you should expect it to be repaired or replaced, whereas if you had paid several grand, you might. Current WiiM gear might fall into the first categoryā€¦
