Without normalization, playing songs that are not part of the same record (i.e., random shuffle of a playlist) is a pain as the volume may be perceived too high or low from a single to an other.
Volum normalization has already been ask and discussed for on this forum:

Volum normalization has already been ask and discussed for on this forum:
“Volume normalization”/“Loudness equalization”
I find considerable volume variability between songs and the fantastic Mini. Volume normalization or loudness equalization would be even better.

Spotify Connect loudness normalization
It would be great if for Spotify Connect Wiim would use the "loudness" value (available in the Tracks' Audio Features API) to normalize the perceived loudness (ReplayGain). This will help eliminate volume/loudness differences in custom playlists.
