What are you listening to?

Apple's highly controversially discussed "100 Greatest Albums of All Time" list placed this as No. 1. Far away from my ranking, although it still is one to consider.
Never thought that such a list can create such a storm in a water glass as this list does. 😉
Here's a list which can drive you nuts! After about 6 weeks of some really obscure suggestions, I deleted it! Sort of fun for a while... 😊😎

Every time i hear Roy Orbinsons in dreams i must think about the great director David Lynch and the movie Blue velvet.

I like the music but i,m a person who is often dissapointed when i know too much about the artist himself..:D
I mean i don,t like artist who are busy with coming in the charts and that want to make the hits..or artist who don,t write the lyrics by themselves.
For me its always better to know little to nothing about some artist because it can cause an deep aversion about the artist and unfortunately also the music..i can feel it then in my whole body..this aversion.:D Sad but true..

I often think lots of artist are victim of the music industry or just are a big attention addicts..maybe you have to be this way i assume. Never the less i don,t like it. Some artist aren,t this way..there are artist who ik like for years but i never dare to know more about them:D sometimes when i was stubborn and informed me _although being afraid_ i luckily wasn,t dissapointed..but other times i was.

Those people addicted to attention, hits being in the charts i dont like at all..:D music for the masses the songs not coming from deep within but made for entertainment.. Think about an artist attending a duet of attending for a song like'we are the world..we are the children.."oh no..please no..the aversion is huge..
I wished i never did looked the 'documentary' about Roy on you tube..i knew i should,t do it. Hade a image of him in my mind..but that was an image i made. Wished i never looked..but i did.
The hits, the charts, the duets..who cares about the industry about the money and attention. Where is the self esteem..wished i never looked..
Even the Duet with Cash..oh no..nooo..my opinion..horrible..happily singing together...i dont like it at all!
But ok i can make other choices luckily..but the dissapoitment was huge..

It is very often a discrepancy music vs artist. One of my heroes, Roger Waters, said and wrote hell of a lot of nasty things over the last years. One has to decide.
This music mainstream persons keep the industry running. Without earning real money with the "stars" it would be difficult for the niches to survive. I would look it from this side: As long as the earn the money they give the possibility to stream for nothing.
But I like your approach!
@Achim1811 Thank you very much for you,re reaction. I guess you,re right. I hope in this time some people arent so dependent on the records labels. In the documentary i saw its all about the touring en making hits en making more en more money..

Often i don,t like music in a live inviroment ...not always but often i don,t. The people screaming..the music for entertainment purposes ..i can feel the aversion towards it in my whole body. I know its about making profit and some artist are maybe victim of this industry ,but there is also something about ones own personality and self esteem. Even to know when a artitst didn,t write the songs themselves i am not in a good mode in the first place.

I often thought Elvis was a sort of being used or must i say victim of this more and more profit industry too. Do,nt know for sure..
The managers and so on.. they will want to make more and more and an artist "cant" even stop for a while / take a pause for instance..take more time for producing something special and so on.Fuck the managers i would say..thats my personal opinion about them. If i had a big talent for music i would never would have anything to do with them and that whole music industry.
Why should you want to become popular in the first place with music and let it all be about the money...

Again sometimes its better to not know to much about some artists i think..
Seeing them perform in songs as we are the world we are the children..charity projects..duets..in popular dull tv shows..horrific..terrible.

According to my previous post..
I must think about a quote a Dutch writer ones said..
I dont like smart people they are too smart..😀
Same thing about those artist..most of them i dont like they are too much to much an artist of an artist. The dull idiotic TV shows, those horrific duets, charity for even more publicity, and even those who make advertisement for self advertisement( product placement of the artist himself)those interviews with each time the same boring questions and answers,..a public figure or a clown of the industry one could say.
He laughs and sings on demand..a puppet on a string of the music industry.

Even those from who you thought they were different had their own self respect..think again..
What about a big hit about a soccer tournament.. even if its held in Qatar..or whatever where..thats how low it can go.
As I said u puppet for publicity..all thats important to them.
Not all of them ofcourse..
Lots of other choices to make and excellent music to listen to from artist who did keep their self respect.

Off topic: I tried Audirvana last night. Pleasant interface, but just too fiddly to play around with. They use Airable for the radio streams - very frustrating to find a stream as there's no search, just those regions, country lists to wade through. Trying to set up local network shares just kept crashing the program. Uninstalled!

Airable Radio is searchable on my Linn amp, maybe Audirvana just haven’t enabled/ implemented it.

It looks nice but I didn't like three total crashes in 30 mins. of use trying to find my network shares.

Airable offers mp3 or aac streams - couldn't detect any noticible difference. But then my hearing is pretty much rubbish these days!
