What are you listening to?

Celebrating with this oldie but a goodie. Today I scored second row center tickets to see Warren Haynes Band at a small 700 seat civil war era theater in my home town. Warren sounds fantastic these days. Can’t wait for the show in February.

One of the first black records, bought in 1987, fascination with bass guitar and slapping (Mark King) ... I still have this vinyl ... memories, memories, memories 😉Screenshot_20241126_154531_WiiM Home.jpg

THIS Jazz Radio was new for me and I was immediately impressed and subscribed it. With Chromecast as well as with Airplay it sounds reasonable well. Given that most of my favorite Jazz music was recorded in a time when sound quality wasn't the main target in Jazz. Nevertheless, people like RVG knew already what to look after.

I recommend anyone with a subwoofer to listen to some good music featuring proper acoustic bass. This album from English organist Simon Gledhill, was recorded at the 5000 plus seat Fox Theatre in Detroit. It features an unenclosed 32’ Diaphone rank, which goes down to 16 Hz.

I suspect that most forum members will not have listened to any theatre organ music, but they don’t know what they are missing.

I don't think my ears or my sub go down to 16Hz 🤣. If these recordings are on Amazon Music I'll try them.

Not as often playing than a few years ago. Longer breaks make listening more exciting.
