The French group Shaka Ponk bid farewell to the public on November 30, 2024, after a final concert in Paris.
Known for revolutionizing the French scene with increasingly innovative stage designs and establishing a massive virtual monkey (Goz) as a full-fledged member of the group and an iconic signature of their visuals.
After 20 years of existence and a dozen albums, the electro-rock group has decided to end its musical career as it currently stands.
Highly committed to environmental issues, the group no longer wishes to continue touring, citing the high carbon footprint of the music industry, which contradicts their desire to protect the planet.
The group's latest album (released in 2023), simply titled Shaka Ponk and featuring songs primarily in French, unlike their previous albums, has just been reissued with live recordings from their farewell tour.
