Yeah it was, a JVC HR-D750 if I recall. Happy days..

I used to record live concerts from BBC Radio onto a Hi-fi VHS recorder. Even on long play mode it sounded very good. It was the only way to choose a suitable break point for the transfer to cassette.

Anyone guessed I’m playing an old playlist I put together in the late 80s/early 90s from my record deck on to a high quality VCR tape on a stereo VCR? Youngsters get it so easy these days when all they have to do is right click and add to playlist…

I didn't guess it, but I can remember the time well. Back then I had an expensive S-VHS stereo video recorder from Graetz, an identical model to the Panasonic. Always put an index on the tape to be able to find the tracks/albums quickly...
