What are you listening to?

Got an hour free? Relive 40 years of pop!

Looks to me that after the 80s it all went to hell in a hand cart.
The 90s and 2000s descend into repetitive purgatory.
It all ends in 2022 with Bad Bunny.
So, in my book that's 30 years of dross...

There's a book called 1001 Albums

There's also an online 'version' which generates a single choice daily

And for LMS users there's now a 1001 plugin... (with playable links to Spotify, Tidal or Qobuz)
... my first daily result was Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival (which I think I'll give a miss)

The catch is that you'd have to be around for about 3 years to complete the online version!

One of the best albums of 2023 (according to The Guardian) is Guts by Olivia Rodrigo...

Described as Hollywood Punk - very slick video production, but has nothing to do with PUNK, and just comes over as a corporate's idea of what might sell to 'the kids'.

Seen the movie so many times, but today for the first time together with my Granddaughter. As always it was the same scene where the old fisher sits dead in his chair when I get wet eyes but this time the little Lady grabbed my hand. More and more I become a sentimental old
cow 😉.

A gem of a film! I recently thought about which one I would choose if there was only one. Luckily this isn't the case, but this film is unique in the good old Irish way. Thanks, Achim

Elsewhere there is a discussion about best debut albums. This must surely be on the list?
