What are you listening to?

Miracle Of Sound (aka Gavin Dunne) - Materia

Irish Tribal Folk, Nordic/Viking, Pirate, Hard Rock, Metal

I had enjoyed streaming some of his music a few weeks ago but wanted a vinyl album so got this 'best of'. (...it's a shame one of the versions of Valhalla Callimg isn't the 'Duet Version' with Peyton Parrish though)

Never knew such a genre existed. Isn't it more like video game background music? 😁

Yes but I just mentioned the mix of styles I hear, I've always been a bit of a magpie when it comes to music & enjoy a lot of varied genres, open to any music that 'sounds' good to me without prejudice about the background or artist.

Another example is The Protomen, originally a bunch of students with covers/computer game soundtrack type music. They've got an interesting trilogy with the third album due out in the new year.

(Hard Rock, Prog, Blues, Electronica, Dub, some Solo/Folk, Doom Metal, Grunge, World & some Trance/House are my preferences).

Now listening to an album from George Harrison.
Great choice ☺️ - this has prompted to pull out the All Things Must Pass 3LP box which I'm now going to play over the weekend. It's a bit battered and worn but really great music. Thanks for the reminder!

As A kid in the 60's my parents played the Beatles a lot but once I started to develop my own taste early 70s, Harrison quite quickly became my favourite ex Beatle, quiet & unassuming but with great talent (mid period Wings were superb too of course).

...although my Father is still going at 95, he insisted a few years ago that I take his music from the 50s & 60s so I've got a lot of Beatles singles in tatty little cardboard/vinyl boxes. Mostly in almost unplayable condition & with sleeves stained & charred by his Mackeson, Campari, Hamlets & Manikins.
