The Jam - All Mod Cons

Another favourite LP of mine being streamed via the WiiM.

'A' Bomb in Wardour Street & Down In The Tube Station At Midnight are a perfect pairing & take me back to my teenage years on the tube. Regularly hanging around embryonic Capital Radio at Euston Tower trying to get musicians autographs or even just seeing them (more fails than successes 😥 - I remember James Brown being extremely chatty & Van Morrison his usual grumpy/intimidating self)

Genesis - A Trick Of The Tail

This and Wind & Wuthering are 'almost' up there with the Gabriel era, both excellent albums & with Hackett still onboard. Great album art too.

...I have two LPs & a CD copy so it 'must' be good!?

Them Crooked Vultures (Josh Homme, John Paul Jones, Dave Grohl)

Saw them at The Blackpool Ballroom in 2009, a uniquely bizarre experience in a setting that was the absolute antithesis of extreme hard rock & metal. Over-the-top victorian splendour, crystal chandeliers & sprung wooden dance floor literally bouncing several inches at a time in tune with 3000 of us & the cacophany that was assaulting it. Very memorable gig, a shame this was their only tour.

At a festival I was impressed how Hetfield & Ulrich stayed front stage with the audience for ages while the roadies were clearing away their gear.

I'm guessing that they didn't feature the famous Wurlitzer Theatre Organ, in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Edit: I've reached the end of the album... it's like classic heavy rock & every single track stands out, no filler.
