Which output to feed headphone amplifier

I currently use the headphone out to mainly listen to tv when my wife goes to bed but I also use it to listen to music if my wife is watching some tv that I don't enjoy, the Ultra is across the room so I drape the cable across the floor, not a big issue but I thought I had found a way to get around it.
My idea was to use a subwoofer cable that is already routed from the ultra location to where I watch tv from the coax out of the Ultra into the coax in of a Fiio k11r2r but unfortunately on connecting it up this way I get no output into my headphones, I guessing the subwoofer cable is the problem, although these cables seem to be usually compatible.
I am happy with the headphone out on the ultra and use the eq to change the sound of my headphones a .little (Focal Celestee) but I have read good things about the Fiio and wanted to give it a try.
My question is it's around 7m around the walls of my room and what would be the best cable to use to run around this, the Fiio has optical, usb and coax in?
Im guessing not optical as imagine it could be easier to damage it

And if you move the k11 closer and try a different cable (even one half of the rca that came with the ultra) does it work?

Have you set the k11 to "PO" (Phone out) or "LO" (Line out)?
What does the k11 screen show? Very small text, just above the volume number.

I'm also assuming you've set the k11 to coax input ;)

Thanks for the reply, yes it is on po and and coax in.
I get audio out using headphones if I use my normal coax cable and using usb in.
Do you think that the subwoofer cable is just too long?
Maybe a usb would be better.
I have just had a new shorter (8m) coax/subwoofer cable delivered, I'm unable to try today but will tomorrow, but it is a fairly chunky cable and would not lend itself easily to route around the room.

Consider adding a Mini dedicated to serving your K11 at whatever location you choose.

Edit: This may be heresy here, but you don't need a WiiM to listen to music. Connect a phone, tablet or laptop directly to the K11 via USB.

Funny you should say that; it's how I was using my k11 r2r for a couple of weeks.
It was an almost portable HP setup!

Is this grounds for expulsion from the forum!!
But again, I have a normal k11 which I often use with a phone and usb, but it does have a mini attached to it too.

Does the mini have eq?

Thanks gor the replies, this looks like the easier option:)
While I have it I'm trying it with the Ultra via usb, need to listen more yet to form an opinion.
