In the last few years the timbre and sound of female voices has changed in the English language (as evidenced particularly on news reporting).
I find it disconcerting to hear the voice of a 4-5 year old eminating from an adult female. An additional affectation is the raspy, squeaking tonality which has appeared in some younger females.
