Why is Tidal HiFi showing such low kbps?

So far I am liking my trial of the WiiM Pro as a digital transport into my DSP active speakers using Tidal HiFi streaming. The app confirms Tidal HiFi at 16/44.1 but shows a bitrate of only 600-800 kbps - far below CD rate of 1411. Why might this be??

It includes a stream compression.

Audio CDs must ensure only the, from today's point of view, low transmission rate of 176.4 kB/s, (corresponding to a transmission rate of 75 blocks per second).

So Tidal is compressing? Lossless, I presume.
As do most streaming services when they use FLAC. If you were sending a CD quality WAV file which isn’t compressed, you‘d get 1411kbps. If you use FLAC, it‘s generally significantly less - lossless compression is FLAC’s raison d’être after all
