I took the screenshots from my Pro Plus and then my phone testing the exact same spot.

I wonder why there's such discrepancy here?

Ok what spot..?
Because a speedtest is a test of network
downloading a file in a short time.
Does it say anything about the WiFi Strength??
Is that spot i short approximation of your modem?
Do you have problems while streaming?

Exactly. You can have great speed with a weak signal but it's unstable.

Are the Pro Plus somehow hidden or is there something blocking the top of it?

As far as I remember the antenna is in the top.

I laid the phone down where the WiiM sits.

Okay that's good to know.
If you are getting drop-outs or an unstable connection you should still try to improve the signal strength, of course.

Sometimes moving the device just an inch or two can make a meaningful difference. Also, you can try to remove the mains power for ~1 minute or so to issue a hard reboot (no settings will be lost). Finally, you should switch to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi if the signal strength is really low. The available bandwidth is more than sufficient fro Hi-Res audio and 2.4 GHz singnals are less attenuated by obstacles like walls.

So, the iphone has multiple antennas within the frame of the phone body as do most other modern phones and tablets. The multiple antennas support multiple-in/multiple-out (MIMO) for a better speed and signal reliability. Optimal wi-fi performance will come from keeping the device in an upright or slightly angled postion. You're not going to find a whole lot of difference playing with phone antenna polarity and phone orientation as other physical obstructions between source wifi router and destination wifi devices play a larger role.
