WiiM amp HDMI arc not functioning and not being detected

Hi everyone.

I had been using HDMI arc as the main audio source from my LG tv and it worked fine up until around August roughly. I even tried using the provided HDMI cable provided by WiiM and that didn't work either. I wasn't 100% sure if it was the TV or the amp for a while. I've also tried turning on and off the new HDMI arc detecting settings and that didn't fix it. I tested this with another LG tv i had and it also showed the same issues. To rule out the tv brand issue, I tested the HDMI arc on two samsung TVs at a friend's place. One of his set ups already uses the TV's HDMI arc as audio output so i know his TV's HDMI arc works with his system. I plugged in my WiiM to his HDMI and the TV wasn't even detecting the HDMI arc as an output option anymore. I'm almost 99% certain the issue is with the amp now.

Could this have been a firmware issue or would this be a faulty device? Any other tests I can do before ruling out a faulty product? I really enjoy the WiiM so far. I have been using it without arc, but the feature is too convenient and I miss having it.

There are at least two things you can do:

1. Factory reset the WiiM Amp. You'll be losing your presets, favourites, recently played history, EQ settings, RoomFit profiles, Wi-Fi connection and active logins to music services, but the device will be guaranteed to start from scratch.
   Undo all connections before issuing the factory reset. Connect HDMI cables preferably with all the devices disconnected from mains power (it shouldn't make a difference in theory, but HDMI often sucks in practice). See if this gets you going.
2. Send feedback to WiiM directly through the WiiM Home App from the More... tab. You can describe your issue, attach files like screenshots and so on. Device logs will be sent along automatically, so WiiM engineers have a better chance of finding any faults. If you do this directly after trying the HDMI ARC connection again, the logs should contain relevant information.

Firmware updates could break each aspect of the WiiM Amp controlled by software (which means pretty much everything). But I cannot remember having read any reports of such failures, in particular regarding HDMI ARC.

I have tried a factory reset. The problem is upon set up, the WiiM immediately starts to update before i can do anything else and it hasn't solved the issue unfortunately
