Morning all, I think my Wiim amp may have broken. firstly it will not play any music, after maybe 10 minutes it will start to play from my plex library. I have reset several times and even tried ethernet cable. It used to play my files perfectly now its pretty much useless. Could the last firmware have bricked it?

By reset, do,you mean a complete power down and power up, as well as a factory reset?

Your first recourse when the issue recurs should be to raise a ticket to WiiM via the more/ feedback section in the app so they can inspect your device logs for evidence

Thanks for your reply, I have done a factory reset and tirned off at the wall many times, is there another option. One thing I have noticed after factory reset is it still remembers my broadband logon and plex details. I would have thought a full reset would have lost these

No other options, other than perhaps a router reboot. Not sure re retention of network credentials if you had factory reset it by keeping its volume control pressed for ten or so seconds until it said it was resetting.
Hopefully Wiim will identify the root cause from your ticket.

I thought this was really the only way to get wiims to connect to a new / different network, i.e. it does make it forget the network details.
At least, I've always had to reset with the long press to make this happen across various models.

Different from choosing restore factory settings in the device info screen, which you might reasonably expect to forget network etc.

Thanks, have reset many times, a voice comes from machine saying in setup mode, have also reset router and tried a different phone with a different wiim app and reinstalled wiim app on phone. Still the same, I do believe its a software problem within the unit as I recall recently having an update and it has not worked right since. Th e fact that it resets and knows the plex logon and broadband details points to it not resetting correctly, maybe the firmware has become corrupt?. Appreciate input and have done as advised raised a ticket. Funny thing is my brother has just purchased the ultra and I was bragging just how good my wiim amp was lol. I should have just kept quiet.

The issue may be coincidental with the firmware update or maybe it was corrupted in some way - hope WiiM can quickly rectify it for you.

Just reset it several times using app and front button. Each time when it reboots it retains both login details for router and plex, each time i can navigate to library and each time when i try to play track it does nothing and then all of a sudden maybe 4 to 10 minutes later it starts playing the track. If I change track once again there is a massive delay of several minutes before that track starts to play. Strange.
