WiiM Amp Ultra soft Optical input

The optical input from my computer to the WiiM Amp Ultra is quite soft.
The pre-gain level has been set to 10 db already in the app, but even then, other inputs are way louder at 0 db.
I guess the USB will have the same issue though I didn't test that yet.
The mainboard I'm using is a Gigabyte Z890I Aorus Ultra.

Is this normal?

The WiiM don't support USB audio input, so you will not be able to test that.

With soft input I guess you mean that the audio volume is low? Did you check the PC output volume settings for the application in use and the system-wide volume. They can both change the volume of the optical output.

Right now, I have 50% volume on the PC and between 25 and 50% on the amp.
I guess this is the way it has to be done, by pumping up the PC volume a little more.

Yes, exactly. There's no issue with the optical input. It's the optical output that must be set to an appropriate level.
