WiiM Amp USB Album Artist / Compilation issue

Right I've tried it with other tracks, The Alarm's Spirit of '76, The Four Seasons' December '63, same result.

Everything is fine until I hit the apostrophe, then everything disappears.

I can bypass the PhD track by searching from after the apostrophe, so just "Let You Down Again", that works.

And apostrophes show correctly.

It's clear that it's just the search function having issues with apostrophes.

I've raised a ticket.

Wow! Release notes for today’s Home App update suggest this has been fixed. That’s taken them just 10 days.

Superb customer support.

Yep, likewise the issue that I have been having still remains. The App release notes seem to refer to a QNAP indexing issue specifically, rather than the problem this thread is concerned with.

Just sitting tight and waiting for @WiiM Team to sort by the end of this month, as stated above.

That's not a real world example.

What is more likely is that you know you have a version of Uptown Top Ranking by Althea & Donna on a compilation album somewhere but can't remember which one. A few letters into the search box and there it is ......

EDIT
What about that? It is actually 3:52

Hi mate, the apostrophe fix is now up and has worked.

So can we go back to my original question? I asked what the advantage was and you said “…it is all about the flexibility of being able to view and search your library in multiple different ways that you simply cannot achieve with simple folders.”

So what are those different ways? I’m still wanting to understand it, and every day is a school day.

Hi All,

We’ll resolve this issue this month by implementing alternative solutions to index the albums on the USB. Stay tuned for updates!
Hi @WiiM Team . So we're now into March - please can you update us on progress towards rectifying this issue? Conscious of the above statement that this would be resolved in Feb. Thanks.

WiiM’s estimates are just that, estimates. Seasoned WiiM users tend to be relaxed about estimated target dates safe in the knowledge that they’ll see the fix/feature at some point :)

Personally, I prefer to wait a little longer to be sure that the fix for this bug will work perfectly. Of course, I'm not in a hurry.
