WiiM Community Feedback Survey - End of Year 2025

We want to hear from you, WiiM fans and audio enthusiasts!

We're not quite wrapping up 2025 yet, but this survey will run for the next month, so I'm calling it the end of the year survey! We're excited to gather your thoughts and insights once again. It's been an incredible year with the WiiM Sound speaker and WiiM Sub Pro joining our ecosystem, plus continuous improvements across all our devices. Now we want to hear how everything's working for you.

Take a few minutes to share what you love, what could be better, and what features or products you'd like to see from WiiM in 2026. Your feedback is essential in helping us shape the future of the WiiM experience.

Thank you for being part of our community this year! 🎶

Take the survey here 🚀

It would need to have a USB-C before they could add a second one. It has USB-A which already allows a hard drive to be plugged in. A lot of users want a USB input to allow a PC to be connected.

Being able to use the WiiM Ultra as a sound card via it's USB would be good, and I've thought about that, but IMHO, there are plenty of very good USB DACs already that can do that. No need for a WiiM to do that.

Having the hard drive attached to the Ultra would take the PC out of the equation from processing or streaming the audio.. you could use the WiiM Home application as it is done today via the My Music tab.

Currently I have my NASs mounted to the Ultra via the My Music tab. But there is a control delay with large 24/96 files when they get over 800MB or so.. If I could insert a USB thumb driver or a USB drive into the Ultra, I figure the IO latency would drop like a brick.

I could then program a USB stick with 2TB of music or a USB drive with 10TB of music... or perhaps a RAID enclosure with 60TB of music into the Ultra. Then I could also have that NAS in the network so I could move music in and out of it from the PC over the network.

The point being that the Ultra would not need to go over the network to fetch My Music files.

You can connect a hard drive to the Ultra now via USB. Opinions vary on how well it works.

Unfortunately, I'm using the USB for a DAC, hence a second USB port. And USB-C is nice because it can drive the power for the external drive.

It'd be great if the DAC could be a plug in option... Note how Schitt does their USB-DACs? Maybe make the DAC into some kind of optional card for the Ultra, put it with the analog drive section. However, that would be a huge redesign as there seems to be a lot processing already in the firmware of the Ultra...

I do use that for the speaker (Sound) but that's a different animal

In my Ultra use case, I don't use any of the volume, frequency control, etc... I use it strictly as a digital processor/bridge to drive Audio over IP and bypass BT.

In over Ethernet or WiFi, out as USB. I use Tidal Connect and mount the NAS too on the My Music tab.

Hmm... will that affect the DAC IO? I guess I ought to give that a try. thanks.

Today I have set up 4 Wiim Sound Lites in two rooms and tomorrow a Wiim Ultra will be added for my passive living room speakers. I like it so far. Only on thing that’s disappointing for me:
The persistent groups can’t be accessed from the Qubuz App via Qobuz Connect. I just assumed that would be possible, and just now learned, that it’s not a feature. So I would be very happy if it could be added in the future!
The hope to find a reliable and nice multiroom experience is the exact and only reason, i ordered Wiim gear for all my rooms - coming from different Chromecast devices including the original Chromecast audio and some active Chromecast speakers, that sadly aren’t reliable anymore. And I can say that Wiim Multiroom works nicely and as expected, with only the Qobuz connect persistant group access missing.

Welcome.

I've a feeling you should be able to cast to the group leader then choose the group in the wiim app from the now playing screen.
Not ideal, but...

Yeah, I would have loved to skip the use of the Wiim App every time ;)
Thanks anyway.

The ironic solution for now is, that I set all the Wiim Devices as Chromecast Devices and group them in Google Home App, since that way I can access all the different groups directly via Qobuz App.

It'll end up a compromise no matter what happens - WiiM/Linkplay groups are constrained to 16/48, while Chromecast groups can hit 24/96 from the Qobuz app but don't support gapless playback

True, depending on the usecase there will always be a compromise.
In my case, I don’t care about the lower bitrates with the Wiim Groups and I would love to stop using Chromecast and use Wiim Groups instead, but I also don’t want to access Qobuz via the Wiim App, so that’s why I’m stuck with Chromecast, until the feature will be added, that you can use Wiim persistant groups with Qobuz connect.

That would be nice (for Tidal Connect too), but I'd suggest you don't hold your breath!
It works for Spotify Connect, but can it be made to work for others? Is it even within wiim's control?

That all might be true, but still I wanted to wanted to give the feedback on what’s missing for me personally and request the feature for a future update. What Wiim does, we don’t know.

Definitely.
It's been mentioned before, and I'm sure feedback / tickets have been raised for this by a number of users via the wiim app.
I too hope it's something wiim have some control over.

While someone at wiim might read these posts, best to send your own feedback via the app.
