Help Center Highlights (Facebook Post) (4).png
This month was mostly updates with focuses on personalization, streaming flexibility, and deeper device control. From RoomFit™ room correction articles to clarifying the current state of Amazon and Apple Music support, September’s articles offer clearer guidance, some new features, and practical troubleshooting tips. Whether you're pairing devices, exploring DAC filters, or customizing your sound profile, these updates help you get the most out of your WiiM experience.

🔧 Device Features & Audio Configurations

📱 App/Software Usage

I don’t feel the Amazon Music FAQs adequately address the Amazon Music service. The way they read to me, it’s as if Amazon Music HD and Amazon Music UHD are different services rather than different resolutions offered by different Amazon Music subscriptions. This Amazon link explains the differences between the subscription/services Amazon offer

Also, when talking about AlexaCast, it would be helpful if there was a footnote explaining that a rectangular rather than round cast icon in the speaker list indicates the use of Chromecast rather than AlexaCast. Users reading this page could otherwise be confused when presented with their WiiM name alongside a rectangular icon.

In the new Sound Profile it would have been nice to allow to not only select if Ultra Screen is off but also to define what to display if not off (VU meter, Album art, etc.). This has been requested multiple times in the forum.

I have not received this Android update yet but this new feature looks nice. When was it announced?

PS: What if an input selected in a Preset have a Sound Profile associated with a EQ setting and the same Preset have another EQ setting? What EQ will be applied? I hope the Preset, as I use different EQs for different Presets all associated with the network input (streaming/WiFi/Ethernet).

I don’t think it has been announced - can’t see it anywhere either on my Android nor iPad apps, nor on any device

I guess this was all done over the month and they anticipated its release which might have been delayed.

The EQ for each input is overwritten and saved by the preset.

So you have the release?

By "saved by the Preset", do you mean it is set when the Preset is activated?

Does the same apply to the other Preset options that are also defined in the Sound Profile or only the EQ?

Sorry, I was talking about current behaviour. I haven't read the manual for the sound profile function yet, and I don't have that function..

We hope the team will tell us about it, but from the current behaviour it is reasonable to assume that the preset settings are applied when the preset button is pressed, and the sound profile is applied when autosensing or switching to manual input.

Personally, I wanted to use the preset buttons to switch between groups, so for me there is not much advantage..

I hope the implementation will be that the activation of the Preset will first change the input, then apply the Sound Profile for the input and finally overwrite the settings with the Preset settings.

Most of the current settings in Preset can also be replaced with a (named) Sound Profile, so that we have a common place to configure all these "one tap" settings.

As far as the manual shows, the only settings that can be set in the sound profile are group configuration, volume, sub-outs and screen. Of these, the only item that overlaps with the presets is the sub-out on/off and Volume adjustment. Per-input EQ is not included in the sound profile.

Edit: When switching inputs with a preset, the screen should switch according to the sound profile and the other items should apply the preset values. (Maybe it will.)

I may have misunderstood, but I don't think so. In my case I want to keep the Wi-Fi input and switch only the groups with the preset buttons, but that does not seem to be possible with the sound profile.

Not sure if this the right thread to point this out, but as it is dealing with documentation... I noticed that Network performance of the Amp Ultra and Sub Pro combo I have is very different. Both units connected to the same 5GHz WiFi POP. The Amp Pro has an Very Good -61 RSSI, but the Sub Pro -71, designated as Weak. It still works and i do not think it makes any difference. I think that the fact that the Sub Pro seats on the floor and the POP seats 40ft away 10 ft above the floor, the Sub Pro is seeing a weaker sidelobe. This may be the reason the Sub Pro docs suggest a wired connection. Maybe this explanation should be in those docs.

Yes you are right. The sound setting of EQ is not in the Sound Profile. I think it should be, else you could just as well put the rest of the sound profile settings in the same page as the current EQ setting.

I am not sure how the Sound Profile "Device" option works. I looks like a kind of link grouping functionality?

I hope all options can also individually be disabled. I use same input with different linked devices depending on if am playing or recording (Mini Disk).

You may be right, but to be honest, I don't know what the problem is until use it 😅

Probably switching between persistent groups and individual devices.

It would be nice if as many use cases as possible could be addressed🙂

I was wondering why you use Preset to switch group? You can easily do that from the Now Playing page.

Sure.
I also frequently use the preset buttons on the remote and device screen🙂
