WiiM Mini and Bluetooth CD Player Pairing Issue

I recently purchased the WiiM Mini and absolutely love this compact device! However, I’ve encountered an issue trying to pair it with my portable Bluetooth CD player (Syitren R400, BT5.3).

Here’s what’s happening:
• I put the WiiM Mini into Bluetooth mode (the green light blinks) and the CD player into Bluetooth pairing mode.
• Both devices continue to blink as if searching, but they never connect.

The CD player easily connects to a Bluetooth speaker, and the WiiM Mini connects to my smartphone without any issues, but they don’t seem to recognize each other.

Is there a solution to make these two devices pair?
Thank you for your help!

Hi,

First, delete all pairings with devices connected to the CD player and WiiM mini respectively. Then put the CD player into pairing mode.

Then, in the WiiM app, tap Bluetooth (pairing) on the Mini's audio input screen. If you do not see your CD player in the list, press the refresh icon in the upper right corner and search for your device again.

EDIT: Oh, sorry, I mistook it for Bluetooth output...

In the WiiM Home app, there is no option to check the list of available devices for Bluetooth inputs—it’s only available for outputs.

I want to use a CD player as an input to cast music via Bluetooth to the WiiM.

Does Syitren R400 have an app to manage bluetooth connections? (I did a little research but couldn't figure it out...)

If nothing, resetting the Syitren R400 may work.

Sadly, no—it’s a standalone player without any apps.
I tried connecting another Bluetooth speaker to the CD player (one that had never been paired with the player before), and it paired almost instantly.

However, I still have no luck with the WiiM.

If I find a solution, I’ll update the topic. Thanks for your help! 🙂
Perhaps this CD player can only connect to Bluetooth speakers.

Please submit a ticket through the feedback back section of the WiiM home app.

I recommend that you take a picture of the spec sheet from the Syitren R400 manual (list of Bluetooth profiles, etc.) and send it along with your ticket. 🙂

There's nothing in Bluetooth to distinguish speakers only (AFAIK).
Can other bt devices (eg. Phone, tablet) connect to Wiim?

Yes, the OP said so. 🙂

Just to clarify, the Mini's audio output is AUX, correct? (Bluetooth input and output cannot be used simultaneously.)

Remember that Bluetooth is a master-slave model for its connection and in your scenario the Syitren R400 is the master so control of the connection lies with it
I would pose the question to Syitren and ask whether there is a way to choose the Bluetooth "speaker" you want to connect to.

Yes, the output is AUX, and as I mentioned earlier, it works perfectly with my smartphone.

It seems to me that the WiiM isn’t initiating pairing automatically with Bluetooth devices. Instead, it waits for the pairing signal from another device (like when you connect your phone and select WiiM from the list).

On the other hand, the CD player is probably searching for ‘available’ speakers to pair with, similar to how Bluetooth speakers try to connect to any available device.

That probably wouldn’t help, as the player has only one button to turn Bluetooth mode on or off. Once it’s turned on, it starts blinking and connects to an available speaker. I’m not even sure it remembers paired speakers after disconnection 😅.

It’s a Chinese-imported player I received as a gift, so I doubt Syitren would be able to provide an answer to my question.
