Hello

I'm looking for a new multiroom setup and found WiiM.
I have 5 rooms, where I would like to have the sound.
If I understand correct, the WiiM Amp is using Stereo sound and with that I can add only two rooms?

Is there another solution to solve my requirements for 5 rooms?

Welcome.

Not quite sure what you've read, but I regularly use 3 or 4 wiims in a group.
I'm sure 5 is fine. I could try it, but I'm sure someone else will reply before I do that!

Edit: unless you mean from a single wiim?
e.g. a wiim amp can power 2 sets of speakers => 2 rooms.
I have multiple wiims, and in a wiim group you can have many in the group. Don't know how many becomes too many!

I was thinking about Spotify.
Do I need multiple WiiM Amp devices? Or what kind of devices?
Depends on what you already have in those rooms, but generally yes, a device per room.
e.g. if you already have an amp and passive speakes then maybe a wiim pro plus would be good.
If you already have active speakers (that take a digital input) then maybe a mini or pro will suffice.
If you only have passive speakers then one of the wiim amps would be a good choice.

At the moment I only have a Denon avr 1700x with two speakers. Is there a way to use this system as well with Wiim?

The specs say: "Multi-Room Speaker Terminal: assignable".

The manual is a bit more specific:

You can configure the surround back speaker outputs to feed a "zone 2" instead of using them for HT. You can then either play the same input or different sources to zone 1 and zone 2.

Advantagse:
You can do that straight away with the hardware you own.

Disadvantages:
You must route speaker cables to the second room. You cannot sync the AVR-X1700 to any WiiM device for playing the same music to multiple rooms.

That is, unless you connect another WiiM streamer (e.g. the WiiM Mini) to one of the optical digital inputs or one of the analogue RCA inputs. If you place WiiM Amps in the other rooms they.could.be grouped together with the WiiM Mini, playing the same music everywhere.

I'm not a big fan of using one WiiM Amp to drive two sets of speakers in different rooms. First, you need to know the impedance curves of your speakers very well and know how to read them with both sets connected in parallel. Also,.if you go with different speaker models there might be a difference in loudness you cannot compensate, unless you are willing to play music in mono. Finally, connecting the speaker cables in parallel can be fiddly.

I took your first post where you wrote "looking for a new multiroom setup" to mean you had one already you were looking to replace.
Does your latest post mean that of the 5 rooms you want music in, only one of them has any hi fi equipment at all? If so, that's a lot of kit to buy!
I think you need to consider how much equipment / what level of equipment you want in each room.
e.g. a wiim amp and some passive speakers, a streamer/amp/speaker in a single box like the wiim C10, a wiim pro and some powered speakers etc.

I'm assuming you currently use Spotify / Heos to play music on the Denon.
As @harkpabst says, yes, you can use a wiim instead and plug that into either an analog or digital input on the Denon, and then have other wiims in other rooms all (or just as many as you want) playing the same music.

Hi

It all depends on your budget, but adding five WiiM Mini units and four pairs of active speakers would be the low cost way to go.
It is even better if the main WiiM used is a Pro or higher model.

In this case, use the Denon receiver as a power amplifier. Audio sync is easier if Zone 2 is not used and playback is in pure direct mode.
