Please review the WiiM Pro update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us. This firmware update is being rolled out in stages, with devices updating sequentially over the next few days.

Release date:

4 / 3 / 2025

What's New:
  1. TIDAL Queue Enhancements: Improved shuffle functionality with track order retention and faster queue performance.
  2. TIDAL Auto Play: Now supports auto-play; enable it in the WiiM Home App.
  3. Spotify Loudness Normalization: Added support for Spotify’s Loudness Normalization.
  4. Enhanced Radio Paradise: Added Serenity, Radio 2025, and My Favorites Mix stations with track-skipping support.
  5. Improved Presets in Group Playback: Presets now function correctly when the device is in slave mode.
  6. Device Discovery Enhancements: Improved stability and connectivity for WiiM Home, Spotify, and TIDAL apps.
  7. Playback Fixes: Resolved multi-room audio crashes and fixed a skipping issue at the end of some MP3 files.
  8. End-of-Track Option for Sleep Timer: Automatically pause playback at the end of a track (requires upcoming app update).
  9. Media Player Enhancements:
    • Improved support for certain m3u8/HLS formats.
    • Now displays original album artwork when streaming from NAS.
    • Fixed SiriusXM playback via Alexa.
Bug Fixes:
  1. Amazon Music: Resolved playback issues for Amazon Prime users.
  2. Spotify Presets: Fixed issue where group playback would unexpectedly ungroup.
  3. KKBox Playback Fix: Resolved the playback skipping issue.
  4. Performance: General optimizations and stability improvements.

Installed this firmware today. Especially the new feature My Favorites mix station with track-skipping support sounds good!

Only when I try to log in to my RP account through the app I get the error message Login failed. With the same email address and password, I can log in to the RP site, so it doesn't go wrong there.
Has anyone here already managed to successfully log into the Wiim app?

Question to 3: Normalization at Spotify: Has this any kind of negative quality impact on the outcome?
And where do I see it is switched on as these features are grayed out on Spotify if I stream with WiiM. Can i assume that it is on when switched it on on Spotify?

And final question, what about the other features e.g.
-override hidden songs - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn‘t.
-fade in/out - it is a great feature for random song lists!

Hi Zupata,

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Please help us investigate this issue by sending feedback through the WiiM Home app: go to the More tab and tap Feedback. Our engineers will look into it promptly once received.

Hi MCG555,

Please see our responses to your questions below:
  1. Audio Quality Impact: Enabling normalization may slightly affect sound quality, particularly in terms of dynamic range, as it adjusts volume levels for a more consistent listening experience. However, the impact is minimal for most listeners and generally leads to smoother playback.
  2. Spotify Normalization on WiiM: The normalization setting in the Spotify app does not affect playback via Spotify Connect. If you enable normalization in the WiiM Home app, it will take effect during Spotify Connect playback.
  3. Hidden Songs: We will investigate this issue. Song playback is primarily handled by Spotify's servers, so the inconsistency may be due to a server-side issue.
  4. Fade In/Out: WiiM supports Spotify's fade in/fade out feature. You can enable it by going to Device Settings > Audio Settings in the WiiM Home app.

Since the last firmware update I’ll get the music what I have saved from Tidal on my WiiM pro in a different resolution. On Tidal connect 96khz and the same music on the WiiM app in 44.1khz. And that is with all the music that I have saved in 96khz on my WiiM pro, now all in a lower resolution. On Tidal connect I don’t have this problem. I checked all my settings in optical out, rebooted my device, logout/login Tidal, restarted my iPad but nothing helps. I have already a ticket from WiiM but not yet an answer how to solve this problem. Anyone an idea what to do?
Thanks.

I see the same on Ultra now, on release from 30250321. Both on WHA (android) and on Ultra screen.

Looks like being a bug in the Tidal API. It's now testing the output resolution and if it's set to max 24/96 it defaults to 16/44.1 !!

Setting 24/196 it's playing with correct resolution.

Does the End-of-Track Option for Sleep Timer allow the playback to end also after the sleep timer elapses or only after the track playing when setting it up? Let's say the sleep timer is set for 15 minutes, and once 15 minutes elapses, it doesn't stop playback immediately but lets the current track finish and then pauses ?

From WiiM Support

"We will resolve the issue with Tidal not playing hi-res audio when the resolution is set to 24/96 as soon as possible."

So setting it to 24/192 and it's ok.

As a workaround you can change to line out when start playing a track and then change back and restart the track.

Yes, it’s back to the correct resolution! Thank you so much for your help.

The normalization does not work well! Itis slightly better than without, but far from „all is more or less the same loudness“. I switched it back! 😔
