Subject: Firmware Update Issue – WiiM Pro (Firmware 4.8.717049)

Hello,

I’ve just received a notification on my WiiM Android App (version 3.2.1.250506) informing me that a new firmware update — “New firmware version 4.8.717049 found” — is available for my WiiM Pro device, currently running version 4.8.716250 from Tuesday, May 13.

However, when I click “Update,” nothing happens. The update process does not start, and there’s no error message or feedback to explain the issue. This behaviour is unusual and unexpected.

I’ve already tried restarting the device and confirmed a stable internet connection, but the problem persists. Both the app and the device are otherwise running the latest versions.

Please advise on how to proceed or let me know if this is a known issue. I would appreciate a fix or workaround so I can apply the latest firmware improvements.

Thank you,

Let me know if you'd like to include device serial number, region, or other specifics.

I wouldn't be too concerned about this, as this recently revised firmware version has just been announced, and it will take a number of days for it to be rolled out to all WiiM Pro devices.

Your device already has the firmware version that this thread was originally referring to, i.e. 4.8.716250 dated 20250507, but this revised version seems to have additional Bug Fixes added.

#532926 Firmware Update Issue – Unable to Upgrade WiiM Pro (Firmware 4.8.717049)** I experienced an issue where I couldn't update the firmware for several hours, despite receiving the notification: *"New firmware version found – NOT NOW / UPGRADE."* During that time, the green button remained stuck on *"CHECK FOR UPDATES."* Eventually, it changed to *"UPDATE,"* and the process completed smoothly. Thank you.

When I play my favorites playlist in Deezer HiFi with over 3000 songs, there is still huge lag and not possible to switch songs after a while. Wifi reception strength is very good.
