Wiim pro plus sounds sharper than before

Hi to everyone. Since the last wiim home app update I feel some changes with treble reproduction. It sounds edgy and more metallic. My filter is always the softer sounding of all 6: "super slow...nos " one.
Can it be that this filter isn't working for any cause?
Thank u.

I understand the sentiment, but I occasionally use Spotify too and it can sound pretty good.
Sometimes I wonder if it really does sound that much worse or if I just expect it to not sound as good.
Whichever, it can still make for a decent night's listening / enjoyment.
(But I still mostly use Tidal :))
Spotify is ok if your using earbud just to get by. However, when you play Spotify on higher end gear you will hear quality is lacking compare to tidal. Speaking of high res on tidal, it did not really blow my socks or any wow factor. In my opinion, this are just upsampling music. 16/44 can often sound better than high res.

This thread is not about Spotify!

The change in sound was on any source and also with digital output.

First I'm wondering if the wiim app could change the sound of the wiim
No.
My reasoning? The wiim app isn't involved in the stream at all, it's effectively just a remote control.
Unless some sort of eq got applied unknowingly, but that's not really the app as such.

if it's the wiim pro plus firmware
I'd be surprised. It's not like it's an fpga device where they can change the algorithms.

However, I'm not disputing your experience.
When I first got a wiim amp pro I thought it sounded awful. Literally awful.
Then I tried room correction and it was hugely better.
Then I turned RC off and it was still significantly better.
Hence my comment above about some sort of eq maybe? I've still no idea why enabling/disabling rc made such a difference to my amp, and it's been fine ever since. Using it right now, actually!

Hi. Sorry I didn't read you before. First I'm wondering if the wiim app could change the sound of the wiim or if it's the wiim pro plus firmware who does it or maybe both. I felt the same as you. We lost some general warmth.
Let me tell you that I realized that many Spotify tracks or songs sounds too edgy or harsh and I avoid them completely, but there's a lot of songs that sound amazingly good. Anyway I still feel that wiim team did something with treble. It's annoying because I don't want they touch my sound!!! I never use equalizer or room correction function, just but I use the sync option for speakers. Let me know if the "treble thing" has been fixed in your wiiim with the latest wiim pro plus firware.
Greetings to you and a hug from Buenos Aires, Argentine.
you compress with spotify (seem aac), me too in aac 192 with my radio... could you come to the way of decompressing?

You purchase hifi equipment but your source is Spotify? You do realize that service is lossy.
I prefer Spotify premium over Tidal. I tried it many times and I compared them both. My Tannoys revealed me that Spotify is warmer and more beliavable sound. I posted videos in this forum showing that. Just used a simple Samsung j1 ace phone to record it.
This is Spotify down here:
