WiiM Pro Plus turns on whenever I hit volume control on phone

I've had my WiiM Pro Plus for several months now and love it. I was using the 12v trigger wire to turn on my audio system but within the last month or so it started coming on randomly (or so I thought).

I realized yesterday that what is triggering it is whenever I hit the volume up or down button on the side of my phone this causes the WiiM device to turn on thus turning on the entire system, this happens when I'm not even using the WiiM app.

Has anyone else tried this or had this issue? I found that force closing the app when I'm done using it so it's not running in the background solves the issue and the WiiM device no longer powers on with the app stopped when I hit the volume control on the phone but surely I can't be the only one that is having this issue. Would be nice to see an app update that fixes this issue.

Possibly something to do with the lock screen controls? I suggest submitting feedback from the WiiM Home App when it happens so WiiM can see your logs.

There does seem to be an issue with the WHA v3.2.2 as it completely removed the lock screen controls for my Android devices.

This issue is caused by the newly added lock screen controller.

The team has already said they will improve the controller and implement an option to disable it, so the issue should be resolved in the not too distant future.

I did submit feedback through the app yesterday so hopefully they will look into it.

I didn't even realize the app had lock screen controls but I have tried every version available to download through the app, all the beta versions and the latest standard release and all have this same issue for me.

I did just enable the WiiM app and tried hitting the volume button on my phone with the screen locked and the WiiM did not turn on then, but as soon as I unlocked my phone and hit the volume button it came on. I just leave the app "forced closed" when I'm not using it. For a month or so I just thought it was coming on randomly but the volume button is definitely the trigger (well at least one of them).

Okay, thanks. I didn't know if they were aware of it so just thought I would post it here just in case. That's great news though!

Hi.I have struggled the same issue and tried to solve it.But then I went to Wiim app premissions and turned nearby devices to NOT ALLOWED.Now everything works well and when I increase the volume on my phone it does not increase it to Wiim.

I've noticed this behavior as well, but I like it; in fact, I rely on it when I need to change the volume in a hurry. As happens all too often when I'm listening to the radio.

And no, I can't use the remote for this. The remote only changes the volume on the WiiM it's paired to, and I need to change the volume for the whole multiroom group.

This is not my experience.
Wiim amp ultra parent device, wiim pro child, change amp volume with remote and both change.
(Unlink them.)
Two wiim pros, change pro volume with remote and both change.
Add another pro and the amp into this group, so now 4 in the group. Change parent pro via remote and all 4 change volume.

Yes, I see that now too. It wasn't the case the last time I tried, but that was a few firmware releases back. Thank you.
