WIIM Ultra needs to be set up constantly

Hi

Everytime i turn on or power up my Ultra I need to set it up from scratch via the app as all I get is “searching for your device”

It’s trying to connect to a mesh network and does so without problems when I set it up but then loses it as soon as I turn it off.

Any thoughts please ?
 
Are your Mesh network set up as a single network (access points) or as a separate network (router)? In the later case the WiiM may be connecting to different networks each time causing the issue.

I’m no expert on this but I have Google WiFi router and points. The Google router is plugged in to the mains and Ethernet to the main router
The points are plugged into the mains around the house creating one mesh network

Then when setting up the WiiM and when accessing it later you must make sure your phone is on the same WiFi acces point each time. The phone must not be connected to your main router!

You could eventually disabled WiFi on your main router.
 
Forgive me if I dont understand. The Mesh creates a separate network, in my case I named in Headon
My phone, the Wiim, my Roon server and everything is connected to Headon. It appears as a networkm and I connect to it. The original network, SKY has nothing connected to it

As I understand it from what I have set up the Google mesh has 1 router and 2 points ( one of the points is a router but is used as a point)

Even when I do all the above I still need to set up the Wiim as a device every time
 
I have had Nest wifi before and it was nothing but trouble. Switched to some higher end Asus Wifi 6 AiMesh routers and they were far more reliable and better range/connectivity options.

The Nest routers would often be unresponsive for no apparent reason. When they worked, they were great.. But they didn't always work.

How far away from the nearest Nest device is your Ultra? Is it possible to use a wired connection between them?

Do you see many ap on your phone? Run speed test very close to your access point and the speed your paying is close to the reading? If you’re getting fraction or half on advertise speed you have interferences. Interference would dropped off your connection even you have full signal.
