We have (4) model homes next door to each other that we would like to have the same source of music playing from one house to the other. Our plan is to have (2) speakers on each porch so that when customers are walking through, the music will be seamless. Each house will have its own WiFi and unique IP address. It is possible for us to run a CAT6 from one house to the other to feed off the same IP if that is nessicary.

Welcome.

All I can think of is the complexity of running ethernet between the homes and having multiple network switches / access points so it's actually one network driven from one of the homes.

What's the music source?
Good, old-fashioned radio (the original wireless!) will obviously work, but I don't know whether internet radio played on devices like wiims on different networks would be synchronised.

The WiiMs need to be on the same network if you want them to be synchronized. Running a wired network for four homes may not be that difficult as the maximum distance for a Cat6 run for 1Gb/sec is 100 meters. It may be possible to achieve this using only the ISP's router or with the addition of a single network switch.

One could also potentially create a single wireless network across the 4 homes using WiFi network extenders.
