YouTube Music Rolling Out to WiiM Devices

YTM Amp Ultra (Facebook Post) (2).png

We’re excited to share that YouTube Music has started rolling out this month to WiiM devices, beginning with Ultra and Amp Ultra. A YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium subscription is required for this integration, which brings access to over 100 million official tracks, curated playlists, remixes, live performances, and fan favorites directly to your WiiM streamers and streaming amplifiers.

Which devices are supported?

YouTube Music will be available on:
  • WiiM streamers: Pro, Pro Plus, Ultra (excluding the WiiM Mini)
  • WiiM amplifiers: Amp, Amp Pro, and Amp Ultra
  • WiiM CI MOD S and CI MOD A80
  • WiiM Edition Audio Pro will receive YouTube Music in a future update
Please note YouTube Music is not available for WiiM Mini due to hardware limitations.

How it works

Just like with other streaming services, you'll control YouTube Music through the WiiM Home app directly. The integration works seamlessly with all the features you already use - voice control, EQ settings, stereo pairing, WiiM remotes, and room grouping.

Getting started

Make sure you're running the latest version of the WiiM Home app and that your device firmware is up to date. YouTube Music is rolling out to WiiM devices over the next few weeks, so if you don’t see it available yet, just give it some time. YouTube Music will appear in your list of available streaming services. Just add your YouTube Music Premium account to your WiiM device, and you’re ready to rock! Please note that a YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium subscription is required.

This partnership gives you access to YouTube Music's massive catalog, including those hard-to-find live versions and remixes that make the platform unique. And as always, you get WiiM's quality and flexible connectivity options.

Thanks to everyone who's been requesting this integration. We heard you, and we're thrilled to make it happen.

For setup questions or if you run into any issues, drop a comment below and we'll help you out.

Happy listening!

I noticed today again for the most of the songs quality 129 kbps.

A question appears in my head right away. Was this indeed fixed already, or what we have seen so far (256 kbss) was only displayed, but not the real quality

Mine remains at 257kbps.

Example of the song played on standard YouTube: Codec 399 -> Opus 251 -> Wiim YM = 129 kbps

While the same codec 399 -> Opus 251, but different song -> Wiim YM = 257 kbps

This is just one example, but last 6 songs added to YouTube recently, that I added to favs, are played in 129kbps

What bitrate you see when you play this through YTM through Wiim app? 129/24/44.1?

Hello,
I'm a happy owner of a Wii U Amp Ultra.

I've linked YouTube Music Premium and Amazon Music (non-unlimited).
Music tracks play fine with Amazon Music, but not YouTube music. Yet I have access to my entire library.
I have the latest update, version 5.2.734250, and I've restarted the device several times.

But YouTube music doesn't play in the Wii U Amp app. However, it works with Google Cast.
Do you have a solution for me?

Could you post a screenshot of the Youtube Music page in the WiiM app? What happens when you select a track?

and the Wiim screen displays "no music selected"

Tap the gear icon in the top right to check your account. Are you logged in with the main account subscribed to YouTube Premium?

Even if there are no issues with your account, please try logging out and logging back in. Also, try the following:

Reboot the Amp Ultra.
Check that the Amp Ultra's firmware is up to date.
Check for updates to the WiiM app and YouTube Music app.
Clear the WiiM app cache or reinstall the app.

I do have the latest version, 5.2.73420.

I've already restarted and even forced a restart for 10 minutes.
The linked YouTube account is definitely a premium account, and it doesn't work even with another one.
The app cache has been cleared, and app updates are up to date.
Uninstalling the app didn't solve anything.
I admit I'm stuck, so if you have a solution, I'd be very grateful.

I recommend submitting a ticket via the WiiM app's feedback section. (Other > Feedback)
Device logs will be sent, which will assist in resolving the issue.

When you tap the three-dot icon for any track on the WiiM app's YouTube Music screen and then tap the 'like' icon, does the heart symbol turn purple?

If the colour changes, will that track appear in the YouTube Music app's playlist?

This is the music I like, and it's displayed well.
But the music still isn't playing.I submitted a ticket to Wiim.

Thank you for checking. The account linking appears to be fine.

This may be a rather irrelevant question, but do you only have one WiiM device?
It's unlikely you're operating the browse screen on another device, is it?

To be honest, I have no idea what the cause might be..

This is my first Wiim device
And thank you again for trying to resolve my issue. I'm still waiting for the support ticket from Wiim.
