Bought the PL100 to go with my Wiim Amp Pro. Found this perfect fitting shelf too which nicely hides all the cables.

If you have the Material skin installed on Lyrion (aka LMS) then you don't even need an app on your phone. You just point to the server and it renders like this.

I very much suggest using lyrion music server on something like a raspberry pi with your usb drive. So much better experience as you can play across your own network to any device, including WiiM devices.

What about the Edifier T5. Nothing to lose at the price.

The case is the heatsink. If you see any teardown videos you'll note various heat pads ensuring key components have contact with the case, so heat is transferred to the aluminium case to remove heat from inside.
