Just last week I got to check a Crane Song Avocett IIA at work, which is a highly praised studio monitor controller/DAC.
Guess what kind of power cord came with this €3500 professional piece of equipment? Certainly not a €150 one ;)
Maybe your phone was on 2.4GHz vs the WiiM on 5GHz? I've learned that the Plex integration is very picky when it comes to networks... while it totally should not be. That's the beauty of Plex (and their native apps).
Pretty neat! Starting to look and feel very mature, very quickly! Now if I see one more comment asking for an HDMI output from one of the streamers....... 🌚
Any estimate when the new features will come to the Android version?
As they keep shipping the standard remote with their more premium products like the Ultra and Amp (Pro), I'd expect/hope there will be a firmware update to add this feature. It would be a shame to force people to upgrade and have the perfectly fine - albeit somewhat boring - plastic remote end...
+1
This will offer the best ease of use, but you'll also be bypassing any eq and possibly loudness circuits if your amplifier offers those.
Me personally, like many others, I use the Ultra connected straight to a power amp and it does an admirable job as (digital) preamp.
I don't see the problem? Could make total sense for specific setups or could just be what some people prefer. There's many apps out there offering this option.
