Ah ok, so not really a solution unfortunately. But yes, obviously, disabling it completely will prevent the Spotify app from using it as well.

And this allow the WiiM to use both Spotify Connect & Chromecast (from other apps, smart speakers etc...)?

Have you heard it? Class AB amplification is no rocket science anymore and has reached the limits of what it can technically achieve a long time ago. Can't think of any reason why a €500 - €600 Aliexpress amp would sound so much worse than boutique offerings costing a few thousands.

So why not just buy a WiiM Ultra and add a NCx252MP based amp (or build your own)? This combination will have the exact functionality you're asking for and can be had for less than €1000 + it is easier to upgrade over time with an external DAC for example.
