Now got pretty much the same thing running with the Music Assistant add on in Home Assistant.
I've installed the "Airplay receiver" and selected the WiiM Ultra as output device over UPnP :)
My "problem" with the Aircast plugin was that it'll show a list of every Chromecast enabled speaker on my...
Yes you can do whatever the native app has to offer... The WiiM device will be treated just like a Raspberry Pi running Plexamp headless
Here's a quick rundown of the installation:

I've now...
I would assume not...
Have you taken a look into the new workaround with Home Assistant? Works great actually, all directly from inside the Plexamp app.
Alriiiight, by disabling "queue flow mode" for my WiiM Ultra's UPnP player settings (in Music Assistant), I was able to get artwork and correct bitrate shown on the display & WH app! It seems to be the case indeed that the audio is always going to be 24 bit at least, due to everything being...
That's also explains why it is converted to a continuous audio stream (as detected the WiiM)
Personally I don't mind too much - as the bitstream should be identical indeed. And while you can't do any searching/scrubbing through the single tracks in the WH app (you can in the Plexamp app...
@Aquaman 's solution sounds about right to me
I know you could probably be using your TuneIn account on your phone/computer as well, but another way to avoid TuneIn's built-in advertisements on the WiiM is to take the direct streaming URL's of your favourite radio stations and manually add them...
Yes I figured there was at least some transcoding going on, since you get the choice to set the output stream format in either Flac or WAV. But it's nice to see at least the bits check out - as they should :)
Probably not, but I don't really care about the fades and the other dsp stuff and enhancements... I leave them off by default.
I really like the app (which is cross-platform), the overall user experience and I already paid for a lifetime Plexpass, so best to get the most use out of it :)
Nice! It would help if the WiiM Ultra's display or the WH app would be able to report the incoming bitrate, but this doesn't seem to be the case.
I also changed the output stream format from flac to WAV. Using Squeezelite, this generated white noise (with some hints of the original audio)...
I had to go in player settings and add high resolution formats (24/48Khz and up) to the supported list. I also disabled everything from DPS, normalisation, limiting etc.
However, it seems like the audio is still being transcoded in my case: when playing a 16/44Khz file, the playback screen in...
That would be interesting! I have 0 experience with HA so I would need to take a look into that :)
Running Music Assistant barebones in docker should be possible, but the installation was a bit technical for my taste on last night's late tinkering session. I chose the easy route to install it...
Whooo got it running! It's not without its limitations though, but very promising!
Firstly I installed Home Assistant in the Virtual Machine Manager, following this tutorial:
The tutorial doesn't touch on the fact that it might be handy to change the IP address to a static one after...
