Hello all, I’ve had my Wiim Ultra for a couple of months now and i really like it. I use it mainly to play flac files off a USB thumb drive or by streaming spotify through the wiim. I noticed lately that i keep getting this “pairing with wiim voice remote” phrase flashed on my display. After a few seconds it says “pairing successfull”. However it starts going through the same cycle after a few seconds. It doesn’t bother the music playback but i’m pretty sure this isn’t normal either? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hi,

Please look in the "Remote" section of the device settings in the WiiM home app to see if it is a device issue.

What does the WiiM app show when the Ultra screen says it is pairing?

When the device and remote are disconnected, the "WiiM Voice Remote" on this screen will disappear.

And the remote icon on the device card will also disappear.

If these disappear intermittently, it would indicate that the Bluetooth connection is not good. If not, there may be a problem with your Ultra device.

In any case, I recommend that you submit a ticket through the feedback section of the WiiM app. A log of your device will be sent with it to help resolve the issue.

Are the batteries in the remote good?

@ Mariohead- have same issue. It seems to be connected with localization of the phone . It means till localization is "on" remote is connected with Ultra. When localization is off link between remote and ultra is lost and mentioned by You pairing phase apprearing.
Have remote software version # 41.Remote and Ultra are still in one room max 5 meters one from the other .
@ hgo 58- it is not issue with baterries , application showing batteries level " good"
@ wiimer - In device menu - on " Remote" line appearing : when connected ( with localisation on) ,as you mentioned on your screenshot : 'Wiim Voice remote" but when localisation turned off" apparing phase " LP RC" or sametimes nothing there .

Sorry, can you tell me what you mean by "It means till localization is on remote is connected with Ultra" ?

Is it referring to the phone's regional (or language) settings? Or the language settings in the WiiM app?

I'm curious, since Remote is connected directly to the device via Bluetooth, so the phone shouldn't be involved by default.

Edit: Also, are the results the same if the distance between the WiiM device and the remote is within 1 meter and there are no obstructions?

All phones with Android have localization button in menu - you need to turn on localization for example tor navigation purposes( and use many other applications) I'm fully aware that is sounds strange that localization has impact to remote with Bluetooth connection , nevertheless there is some coinsidence.
Probably between Google and Wiim sofware . BTW I'm also mainly lisening Spotify.

You could be right, well "location" anyway 😃

Hope so ,anyway both forms( location/localization) are acceptable. when translate word from my native language . But it isn't core of the problem.
Ok, I understand. 🙂

So is the error just a display issue? Or will you not be able to control the device remotely during the error?

BTW, I tested this on my Android and the remote worked fine with location turned off, with no such error displayed.

Make sure your Android app is updated to the latest version (3.0.6) and please try rebooting your WiiM device and phone.

Also please try re-pairing the remote. 🙂
Well. My problem and as understand user's Mariohead is : Wiim Ultra trying to connect and pairing with remote voice pairing every 3-5 minutes , even when in fact was paired and/or disconnected by forget remote function in menu already . For instance now lisening with record cover artwork on Wiim's screen and when touching screen in order to go to " Home" ( main menu) , appearing message that " pairing with wiim voice remote" . It's crazy & most probably killing batteries in remote .
Most fanny is that I don' need this feature "voice pairing" at all . All I need is normal remote via Bluetooth.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I just noticed that when the remote is right beside the ultra, it stops doing the “pairing with wiim remote” thing. So maybe it’s a weak battery or weak bluetooth issue? Like @xavi, i don’t really need this feature. I’ll try changing batteries tomorrow and see what happens.
