Access usb library from touch screen

Hi team

I would love the option of accessing and select my USB music library from the touch screen
release soon (I know you plan it)
could you give us an approximate date ?
new eversolo play amp have it

My wife and I are from the old school (65 years)
and prefer to select the music using the touch screen
than the iphone

Also, I only access music via folders, I manually classify my albums into an appropriate folder structure, so at the very least let us browse our music using folders!

When using "Advanced" browsing mode with third party media servers the metadata is stored on the phone, not the WiiM itself.
Do you use the WHA on multiple devices, and if so, does each require a rescan for new music to appear?

If the metadata is currently stored on the controlling device (as it is with third party servers) then they may need to rearchitect the solution before being able to control it from the Ultra.

I'm trying to ascertain if the USB library index lives on the WiiM Ultra or the phone/tablet running the WHA. I know the core index lives on the USB pendrive (files.db) but there's another set of transformations that take place beyond that.

When using third party media servers the "Advanced" index lives on the phone/tablet so I don't think you'd be able to browse it from the Ultra, at least not without the phone dependency.

let's not joke, a USB key is a completely local use of the file, the data and metadata that are in the file are used by the player, whether it is a Wiim, or a PC or your car...

@simbun isn't joking and I fear you're missing their point about where the "advanced" index lives which appears to be on the phone/tablet and not the usb key.

I’m sure WiiM will announce the date nearer the time when they’re able to. The fact that they haven’t proposed a date suggests it’s perhaps some time away.

Ok. You should perhaps then ask WiiM directly via the more/feedback section in the WiiM Home app or via the “Contact Us” link at the very bottom of this page and they may be able to give you a better idea of when this feature might arrive on the Ultra and I guess the Amp Ultra. Good luck

Eversolo Play seems so much better than Wiim! The Wiim UI dev(s) seem to just not care! And the recent update broken the home screen radio feature... It's almost like Wiim hired some high school kid who is "vibe coding" the UI for us... gee thanks Wiim!

Appears to be working for me! Power cycle your Ultra and see if that helps!
