For context:
We have our morning alarm set up with a master-slave speaker group which outputs to our living room and bedroom (in both cases, a WiiM device is feeding a DAC and downstream amplification/speakers). We set the living room to full volume and the bedroom to 40% so as not to get jarred awake. After we're up, we may raise the slave bedroom device's volume. While this requires remembering to set volume levels appropriately before bedtime, it otherwise works well and has let us replace a Google speaker group that accomplished the same thing, through Routines/automation.
Request:
Allow setting an alarm using a permanent/named speaker group with preset volume levels on each speaker (for any number of speakers supported in WiiM multiroom). When the content is playing, allow temporarily changing volume levels on individual speakers in the group, but which won't change the default settings at initialization for alarms.
Perhaps this could be provided as an enhancement of the defined speaker group function currently in beta? In the future, as WiiM exposes more functionality to home automation platforms such as Home Assistant, it would be useful to expose this defined alarm functionality which I can imagine using in several scenarios beyond awaking in the morning.
Thanks!
