It would be very nice if the digital volume control in the WiiM app would have numbers from 100 down to 0.

Being audiophiles, we like to compare things and it would be easier with a volume control with numbers . Is this doable ?

Another benefit with volume numbers would be that you might have some favourite songs that you want to play at a certain level for biggest enjoyment. Or watching a movie with the volume level below the one that will destroy your speaker.

Ironically, the Google Home app does show the WiiM volume setting as a percentage value (and can even change the value), even if Chromecast is not the current source.

This should be turned into a feature request rather than just a general thought for WiiM.

Roon also shows a number.
I definitely think WiiM “MUST” add a number. It’ll be very VERY helpful for making a volume limit for different outputs.

Why? I think proper gain adjustment per input was far more desirable.

Oh. Did they use gain info in the past and took it out?
I’m new to their systems.
Yes. If they had gain info, that would be even better. Agreed.

Maybe I haven't been very clear in my posting.

Yes, I definitely support the request to display a numerical value for volume control. I just don't think it's of particular interest regarding the outputs.

You can have either fixed or variable outputs with almost all WiiM devices. All WiiM devices support one output at at a time. That's all fine for me. Different inputs on the other hand may have different levels. The currently available concept of "per source volume control" doesn't do what' I'd like to see: A fixed offset between different sources.

I didn't refer to gain information provided by the source (or just not).

I do not see how a general, device independent volume limit per output would be helpful or needed. Those WiiM product offering an analogue output already allow to set the output voltage (rms).
