Hi, I have a QNAP NAS storage. Some albumes shows albumart, some of them are not.

I tried many albumart jpg names as folder, cover, album name, artist name. What is the rule? Do I restart the NAS after changing artwork, or PC, or wiim appl.

thank you,

QNAP NAS TS-133, windows 11 pc, Wiim Pro

Hi mdard,

Please try updating to the latest version of the WiiM Home App—iOS (3.1.9) or Android (3.1.8)—and see if the issue improves. If the problem persists, kindly send us a feedback ticket through the app so we can assist you further.

Thank you for your support!

I update Wiim Home app. It's the same. I send a feedback ticket.
Is the artwork visible from the mconnect app? If not then it's a configuration issue. I've never used QNAP so I can't help on that front.

I can see on windows with file explorer (on network of course).
What you mean about mconnect app? if I'm not wrong its file explorer.

If this helps, I had the same problem with a Synology NAS. I fixed this by re-doing the ID3 tags with mp3tag, it works with all music file formats, even DSF (sacd).

Mconnect is a UPnP control point (available on iOS and Android) just like the WiiM Home App (WHA). If the artwork is visible in Mconnect but not in WHA then it must be a WiiM problem, otherwise it's a problem with your music server.

I added album artwork (Cover) with TagScanner. It does not show tag name as ID3 or like that. But, your advice give me that idea.

Is Mconnect a player? I don't want to install it. I'm looking UPNP on QNAP. But I don't understand :) I enabled...
Mconnect is an app that uses UPNP to play tracks from a UPNP server on a NAS device like QNAP to a WiiM device. You’re being asked to install that to see if it has the same issue as you see with the WHA as suggested in comment #10

It's likely to be a problem with the QNAP music server. Your options are:
  • Install mconnect to determine where the problem lies (5 minutes)
  • Wait for WiiM support to reply
  • Raise the issue on the QNAP forums
  • Install MinimServer (an alternative music server) from the QNAP package center (20 minutes)

Not only Minimserver. There are other upnp servers that will install directly on Qnap

Do you have a working knowledge of the others should there be a similar problem?

MinimServer is probably the most robust of those available and has excellent logging, so I'd probably be able to debug any issues if they were to arise.

I'm hoping @mdard installs mconnect as that's the quickest thing to do!
