Hello folks. I'm new to Wiim (with an Amp Ultra) and new here.
I'm trying to get Alexa control working with partial success. By putting my Echo Dot and Wiim in the same group (with wiim as the preferred speaker) I now have Spotify (and BBC Radio) playback control working from Alexa, but I'd really like it to work with Tidal. The help seems to indicate that I need to enable Tidal integration in the Alexa app however that's not possible in the UK. Any ideas on how to make this work?

As far as I remember this is yet not possible outside the US. Even Tidal says Bluetooth only. But sure better informed Alexa and Amazon users will step in to explain things detailed.

When Tidal support first came out in the USA, I asked them about UK support and they said they were going to do that but 7 years on nothing has materialised, so I’d say it never will. Plus by all accounts their skill is subpar e.g. a recent review states: “…this skill sucks. doesnt recognize any of my playlists and artists and plays random stuff whenever i request a certain artist or playlist. completely disfunctional.” Loads of similar one-star reviews, and I’d doubt if it plays anything other than lossy mp3. Best avoided imho…

Hmm... Ok. I do all my control through the wiim app, but my family are demanding Alexa control. Spotify it is then ☹️
A caveat about Spotify - it only allows one stream per account (even if you have a family plan) so if all your echos and WiiM devices are registered to the same account which you’d normally do so you can use multi room, announcements, easy smart home control etc, you’ll likely have some issues if more than one person wants to use Alexa to play Spotify at the same time.

Really, in an Amazon multi user setup, an Amazon Music family account is the only way to go…
