Alexa & voice commands

I would like my Wiim Amp had a feature. I try to explane it: when I tell “Alexa” to my Alexa device, Alexa reduce the volume (for example if there is a song playing in that moment) to hear better my request.

I connect my Alexa devide to Wiim amp, so I can ask Alexa to put music and wiim Amp can reproduce it to speaker but when I give another command to Alexa often I have to repeat the command to higher voice volume so that Alexa can hear.

In conclusion, I would like that Wiim reduce volume of that it’s playing when I ask something to Alexa.

Can't you already do that anyway with Amazon Music by voice for a WiiM device? It'll be added to an amazon music, not WHA playlist I'd expect.

Sorry, I guess my explanation was wrong.

WHA's Amazon music does not have the ability to add the currently playing track to a playlist. The team said that the ability to add to playlists will be implemented in the future.

I wanted to know if this feature would be implemented so that voice control could also it. (Of course, I can add tracks to the playlist by starting playback via AlexaCast or voice).

Ok, I don't think asking to add a track to a playlist by voice will work for a stream started from the app unless the fairly recent autoconnect feature in the Amazon Music app facilitates it. I seem to recall Alexa saying it couldn't detect an audio stream if it hadn't been started by voice.

@Wiimer Do you recall if the WiiM support pages ever had a reference to being able to change EQ modes via Alexa voice commands? There's something in the back of my mind that they did suggest that commands like "Alexa, change EQ to movie" might be possible?

Perhaps they're using the Alexa interface for smart home entertainment skills since they have implemented input changing by voice? See this Amazon develop spec: https://developer.amazon.com/en-US/...rt-home-skills-for-entertainment-devices.html

My Linn amp has a skill that looks like it's been developed using that interface, and they have used the channel controller aspect to run their "PINs" which are akin to presets viz. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Linn-Products-Ltd-Smart-Home/dp/B07H59QD82

It would be good if WiiM could enhance their Alexa support as far as possible with that Alexa Smart Home Interface.

As you say, it looks like the channel control skills would allow you to press the preset buttons on WiiM. I hope the @WiiM Team will consider this.
